Tactical Carbine I is a basic class designed for new carbine tactical shooters and for those who have had little or no formal training with this type of weapon system.  Students will be given the foundation  for marksmanship skills required to engage targets in a close quarter environment. cover all the basics of the Carbine including sighting systems, zeroing confirmation and targets out to 100 yards.

Prerequisite: A basic understand and knowledge of the tactical rifle. Rifle should be sighted in

  • Carbine (AR-15, AK-47 platforms)
  • Selection and use of various sighting systems
  • Rifle Fundamentals
  • Basic tenets of rifle marksmanship
  • Zeroing Confirmation
  • Target engagement out to 100 yards
  • Loading, reloading, and unloading procedures
  • Managing and clearing multiple malfunctions
  • Carry Positions: Low ready, High Ready, SUL
  • Multiple target engagement
  • Varied positional shooting platforms (Prone, Kneeling, Barricade)
  • Close Quarter Engagement
  • Transition from Primary to Secondary firearm
  • Shooting Moving and Communicating
  • Basic Team Development

Equipment needed:

  • Carbine in good working order and sighted in 25 yd to 35 yd preferred *
  • Handgun in good working order (.380 cal to .45 cal)
  • Good Tactical gun holster
  • Good sturdy wide tactical belt for your gun holster
  • Tactical Rig, Body Armor Rig
  • Sling (1 or 2 point sling)
  • Spare magazines (3 or more for your carbine)
  • Belt Magazine holder for (1) AR- AK magazines
  • Spare magazines (3 magazines for your handgun)
  • Magazine Holder for (2) Handgun magazine
  • Optics Red dot (optional)
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Baseball cap
  • Knee pad
  • Elbow pads (optional)
  • Floor or yoga mat (harbor freight anti fatigue roll mat is cheap)
  • Inclement weather gear (Rain Jacket)
  • Small notebook and pen
  • Sun Screen
  • Bug Juice
  • Cleaning kit (optional)
  • 500 rounds (5.56/.223/7.62×39)
  • 200 rounds for your handgun (.380-.45 cal)

* We recommend you wear comfortable running shoes or hiking boots, long pants, long sleeve shirt (optional but recommended),( no shorts, skirts, no sandals, open toe shoes or high heels).

**Please note that the weather in Florida in very unpredictable. We will shoot rain or shine the course will not be cancelled unless we have severe lighting storms, flooding, hurricane.
